sling me

Now that I have my little Marlowe on the outside instead of the inside, I've been enjoying wearing him in my pouch sling. I kind of wonder if perhaps he's not such a fan of the pouch as I am, so I may try a wrap, too. It took me awhile to sort through all the babywearing options out there. But I love it!

Pouch slings and babywearing is becoming increasing popular because of its convenience and comfort, especially when you have multiple kids to chase. And have I mentioned how much I hate strollers? yea.

Anyway, it's important to keep safety in mind, correct positioning in a sling is important to take note of. This is a great article for correct positioning. Happy babywearing!

Would love to see a pic of y'all babywearing!! :)

hate. strollers.

Well, you know I love my stroller out of pure necessity and sanity. But you also know I love me a sling or thirty.

Just fyi, it takes getting used to, even for the baby... Adelaide wasn't such a huge fan herself right at first but after a lot of practice I could get her in pretty painlessly, she eventually LOVED it.

I second Moriah's comment about it taking some getting used to. Kent wasn't a fan of our sling when I first sprung it on him at five months, but now he loves it. It took a several practice sessions around the house before he could make it through a grocery store trip. =)

I personally am a huge fan of the wrap. It takes a little getting used to at the beginning as far as how tight to wrap the baby, etc, but I feel like it is a lot more secure for the Mommy and baby at the beginning and I find it easier to do things with the baby in it than the sling (ie running after other kiddos, grocerry shopping, vaccuming, eating, etc. My babies just snuggle right up against me and fall asleep, even if they're colicy and difficult to calm in other ways. I find the sling more useful when they are bigger and can sit up or support their backs and necks better. I even nurse my babies in the wrap in public places. I started using one with my second baby and would never go back to a regular carrier.
BTW still loving the sling that you gave me this summer and look forward to using it with Aimée in the future. Thank you!
