Tonight we went to an open house at Ellis's school. We got to hang out in his classroom with the other families and see what he's been up to. On the way out, we got some of his artwork, including a picture that was clearly four people. I said, "oh, I think Ellis grabbed the wrong picture." But no, it WAS his. He even told us, "this is mommy, daddy, Marlowe, and Ellis." This is a major proud parenting moment for me. This is Ellis's first family portrait!!!! Like I didn't even really know he was doing people like this. Last I knew, his drawing was tight little blobs that he did over and over again. I guess he was flexing for this big developmental milestone. I'm so floored!!! um WOW!!! I need to get a frame for this!!
And here we are, for the sake of comparison, you know.

GREAT Family Drawing! Wow,
GREAT Family Drawing!
Wow, Ellis's drawing is really amazing! And this post prompted me to finally write about your visit to my house in my blog. I'd uploaded the photos the next day to a Picasa album so I could link to them from a post, but never got around to writing the post. Sorry! You can download all the photos and if you'd like them in higher resolution, I can upload them again in full size, just let me know...
How awesome is the drawing??
How awesome is the drawing?? Also the family picture is beautiful. J- you are looking especially lovely in it!
What a great drawing! I love
What a great drawing! I love the big tooth Ellis drew on him and you. Hee hee! And the asterick-thingy on Chris which must be his goatee! So adorable! And yes, I am amazed at the LEAP that Loch made from draw faces for the first time just this past August and now he is drawing up a storm! Just yesterday he drew a hand and another hand but with things in it. I asked what were the things in the hand and he said GERMS. The hand with no germs was clean while the other was dirty. Oh my. I asked where he learned that. He said TV. Sheesh but yay for PBS! ;)
