a-conferencing I went

A couple of weeks ago, I left Marlowe with my mom and Ellis with daddy and went to a conference. It's been awhile since I've done that. I do enjoy them. This was the national meeting of my academic discipline meeting jointly with a sister discipline. I was going primarily to scout out grad programs, meet people, and make an impression on programs I really want to get into. I feel like I accomplished what I set out to do for the most part.

deaf and music

This post has two parts.

Part the First: wherein encounters with the public library lead to benefits beyond my wildest dreams.

Adventures in the Big Apple, part 2

I went back to New York in April. This time with just Marlowe, which I admit I find rather challenging, because at 23 months, he was a wiggly, curious boy. But we made it there, and met up with my MIL who was in town all week with a trade show for work. We stayed the night with her in her hotel room on Times Square. She took us to eat at a delicious restaurant, that wasn't kid-oriented at all. And Marlowe did superbly well. Then we went to M&M World. By then, it was pretty late, and Marlowe was sitting in his stroller in a daze.

new beginnings

I know it's been a little slow over here on Asteroid B612. I had hoped that the December Photo Project would kick up my momentum a little, but after the new year I kind of dropped off a little. I do want to blog a little more, just a matter of making myself write, which is so important. But we've also been busy working behind the scenes in blogosphere. When I switched to using Drupal, one of the things that allows me is multiple blogs, closely connected. We have, essentially, one Drupal to rule them all.
