Chronicles of my life as a grad student

Green day

On Valentine's Day I got a call from the chair of the department to which I applied at Boston University. I was enthusiastically accepted. (I'm glad I got the accept before the rejects. ha!)

Today is St. Patrick's Day. Today the chair of the department to which I applied got a call from me to say that I accepted their offer.

December 15

DPP 15

December 15= D Day!!!

The due date for the first two of my grad school applications. The next two are Dec 31 and Jan 15, but will be considerably easier to get in, because all the paperwork is in order now. It took a ton of time making sure every jot and tittle were just right. Here's hoping for success!

I'm so focused on GRE study. Friday is coming quickly. I'll be so glad to have it behind me. It's so frustrating, because I'm spending so much time on just inane stuff. You know, who wants to remember how to do quadratic equations again?! Studying for the GRE has no real product at the end. I'm not researching or writing. And it's just stupid.

Felt extremely sluggish today.

Went to the gym this morning and took advantage of some childcare. It was a slow grind. Barely made 3 miles. I may or may not do another 5K a week from Saturday. Will pay attention to the weather forecast, 'cause I'm not going to run in cold, wet, rainy.

preVacation Make-ys

No, no funky seersucker pants this year. But I have been making some fun stuff for our vacation. (We leave tomorrow!! yay!)

For Marlowe:

When Ellis was 2, I got two blank Tshirts at Target, always meaning to freezer paper stencil them. Never got around to it, and he wore those shirts blank all summer. Always felt bad about it.
Well, now Marlowe is 2, and I got him two blank Ts at Target, bc he needed a couple extra shirts. And this time I got around to it!
